This was my first time learning a language in another country, and I was quite worried about not being able to keep up with the progress of the class. To my surprise, the material was taught in a very clear and realistic manner, allowing me to hone my abilities in a rate that really suited me. In addition, the teachers were incredibly enthusiastic, nice and passionate about teaching us, and it quickly made Japanese class my favorite course during my exchange period in Tokyo University. I sincerely recommend it.
Even though I had studied some Japanese on my own, this was my first actual class, so I was a bit nervous about whether I’d be able to keep up. But that worry turned out to be completely unnecessary. My classmates came from very different backgrounds and had varying levels of prior experience with the language, and the teachers were incredibly accommodating of that. They were also super friendly and enthusiastic, creating a relaxed learning environment where making mistakes was just part of the process of improving. It quickly became my favorite course of the semester, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone interested in studying Japanese during their time at UTokyo!
